Since I was a child, creating art has been an integral part of me. I have always been pulled towards painting that which encompass my daily life--objects, scenes, and people I cherish and hold dear. As a mother and also a trained therapist, I find the details in my subject matter are very important to me. I especially enjoy painting reflections. I love to play detective and really look and then actually see what I am painting, observing the color and the texture of the subject matter. I want to capture the details that the reflection of light holds on canvas of both abstraction and reality. This helps me in my search for the exact combinations of pigments and brush strokes needed to create the desired results. I tend to work in a realistic or an impressionistic mode, using oils or acrylics. However, I also occasionally do abstract paintings and mandalas as well. I also work in other media such as pen and ink, markers, oil pastels, and mixed media.
